Brentford have decided not to buy striker Neal Maupay on loan from Everton because they had already signed Igor Thiago from Club Brugge.

“Here I am, seven years later, in the Premier League. I’ve played for a few teams, but I’ve never received the love like I have here.

“The people always love me and appreciate me. They saw that I was a fighter on the pitch and I would give everything for the shirt and the club.

“I think straight away we had that connection. I’m going to miss them, I’m local and the good moments I had here was absolutely amazing.

“I wish everyone could experience that because it’s very special. I’ve always tried to give my best for the fans and the club.”
