Who is Leni Yoro?
Yoro is a defender to watch. The 190cm centre-back signed his first professional contract with Lille at the start of 2022 and made his debut for the club a few months later in a 3-1 win over Nice at the age of just 16, breaking Eden Hazard’s record to become the second-youngest player in the club’s history.
Yoro has gradually made his way into the first team, with just 15 appearances in the 2022/23 season, 10 of which came as a starter.
There’s something special about this kid, showing great maturity for his age and immediately becoming a key player for Lille last season.
How was Yoro’s performance with Lille last season?
The 2023/24 season is just the first full season ยูฟ่าเบท that Yoro has played. He has played 32 times and started 30 of them in Ligue 1. He has quickly established himself as a key member of the team.
Under manager Paulo Fonseca, who only joined AC Milan this summer, Lille enjoyed a breakthrough season, finishing fourth and qualifying for the Champions League. Part of their success was down to their solid defence, with only two teams conceding fewer goals than their 34, one of them being champions Paris Saint-Germain, who conceded 33.
In the matches where Yoro play 60 minutes or more in Ligue 1 last season, Lille kept 13 clean sheets and he also scored two goals.
